So Angi got a brand new house, and all I got was a new habit!
Since my friend, Angi, bought her new house, she is looking for affordable ways to furnish her new footage. She started checking out some blogs on my friend, Alice's site and now she is a Craigslist stalker. She is searching for all kinds of stuff. Beat up. Old. Even ugly.
And then.....
She is refinishing them! She has done an awesome dresser and is looking for more goodies.
Well, I started looking at those blogs, too. I was very inspired! But I don't need anything new. I have been looking for a sideboard for over a year, but haven't found a nice one that is in the price range I am willing to shell out. This trash to treasure mentality has opened up new horizons though! I still haven't found a sideboard I want to pay for, but I know that the possibilities are far more vast than I first thought.
So.....what is a woman to do when she wants to paint something REALLY BAD? She raids her daughter's (the one that is out of town) bedroom and practices on her bedside table! Yep.....I ripped off Catey's table and painted it. I had to start over again, because I didn't listen to Angi (yes, Ang, you were right, I was wrong) and use primer first. If this one turns out, I am going to refinish Catey's dresser, too. Just don't tell her.
Jocelyn got in on the act and is practicing on a very rickety, woogedy-woogedy, old table. She has painted it and is planning on all kinds of cool stuff to do to it. Then, I told her, she could do her own dresser.
So, now what do I do at night and early in the morning?
Cruise Craigslist.
And how do I spend my weekends?
Sanding furniture with my friends!
I even found an inexpensive armoire on Craigslist that is exactly what we have been looking for for a year and a half! And I LOVE it! I am ready to take my relationship with Craig to the next level....I am going to sell my old entertainment unit on there!!!! Somebody stop me....I am Craigslist crazy!
And look what else I made!!!!! It has nothing to do with Craigslist but it is my favorite thing in the whole wide world that I have ever made!!!!! I put it in a rustic, barn wood frame and now it matches the armoire!!!!
See ya on Craigslist!

Wow. So you are a closet crafter afterall! and I have a Hobby Lobby... all is good in the world. Now, if I could send you the boys' dresser I've been meaning to refinish, THEN life would be PERFECT!
I, too, love the Yuen sign. Do tell... how did you do it?
