"Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching....whenever she decides to teach again!" Proverbs 1:8 revised
Here is something that you will hopefully never hear out of my mouth again. It is August....and we are starting school.
For those of you who know me, you know that something must be desperately wrong if I am starting school in the SUMMER!! Never, in 11 years of homeschooling, not EVER, have I started school before Labor Day! Never, never ever! It goes against every fiber in my being.
But God gave me a very fun season of playing this year. He blessed me with so much fun that I can hardly complain about having to start school now. He crammed THREE summers into 6+ months. Here are the blessings.....
*New Mexico homeschool conference with my buds
*Including Mr. Demme as one of my buds at the NM conference!
*Watching Mr. Demme talk to my daughter on the phone at the NM conference
*Imagining Joss on the other end of the phone....plotting my demise.
*Graduation of our oldest daughter and survival of making her Memory Board O' Death.
*A wonderful week's visit with my folks.
*Shorter visits with many, many out of state friends.
*Day trips to Helen Hunt Falls, Patsy's Candies, and Fox Run with old friends.
*Getting to adopt two FABULOUS boys for a couple of weeks at a time.
*Breakfast at Cracker Barrel with Ethan.
*One big play date from January to August with the Yuenkowskis.
*Texting my daughter daily for three weeks. (I never thought we would be apart so long this early in her life).
*ICC National Convention! Hanging out with Karri, Twyla, Eunice and other fab folks!
*Seeing our nation's capitol
*Impersonating Mrs. Moon in FRONT of Mrs. Moon!
*Dinners with the Webers.
*ROCK HOUSE ICE CREAM
*SIX birthday celebrations!
*LOTS of parties: Graduation, blessing, birthday, YSG
*New dog!
*One surgery....Okay, that doesn't fit the "play" model...but it did result in many hours of I Love Lucy!
*A fun trip to Squeak with friends to make our own sodas.
*FINALLY a time to hang out with the Frames.
*Multiple Toy Story 3 dates.
*Three different camp experiences.
*Just hangin' out doin' nuthin'
So, as you can see, I really can't complain. It is time to say good-bye to my great summer vacation (and then some), bite the bullet, and start school.
After all, I go on vacation in two weeks!

WOW!!! What a fun time!! I know I shouldn't complain about it being over, but part of me wants to whine a little bit about it. But really.....I can't because we were so blessed! Thank you Jesus for a fun playtime!!
2 weeks... 2 weeks... 2 weeks... I'm chanting with gutteral enthusiasm and squealing on the inside with joy!
Good bye, summer!
Hello, roadtrips. :D
